“It’s a recession when your
neighbor loses his job;
it’s a depression when
you lose your own. ”
~ Harry S. Truman
JOB LOSS
Losing a job has a tremendous impact on the economic and
emotional stability of a family. The loss of steady income can
immediately impact the ability to put food on the table and
provide a safe place to live. Unfortunately, many people are
facing this problem today. Unemployment rates continue to
hover at high levels and job creation continues to abate.
As a result, poverty is spreading across the county. In 2010
more than 15 million children were living in poverty in the
United States, many of these due to the current economic
climate. 1213 can provide financial support during this
difficult time and our Volunteers can help families maintain
their focus on working for God.
