The Gabby Otvos Story
In August of 2013, Gabby Otvos was diagnosed with a renal cyst.
Upon further examination, it was determined the cyst had malignant
potential. Because Gabby’s husband, Marion, is an evangelist in
Romania and is supported by churches in the United States, they did
not qualify for access to the Romanian healthcare system. Friends in
the U.S. consulted with hospitals and determined her surgery would
cost as much as $67,000. They immediately rallied to her side and
began an aggressive fundraising campaign. This effort, along with a
grant from 1213, allowed Gabby to have the life-saving surgery she needed.
