There aren’t many things that cause as much anxiety as a test. Especially a final exam. Trying to remember everything you’ve learned all at once is a challenging and sometimes harrowing experience.

Even as adults, when faced with an exam in training or higher education, we respond with sweaty palms and butterflies.

Few people enjoy tests and no one relishes failure, in school or in life. The reality is, quizzes don’t stop when we leave school. We face a difficult examination each day of our lives.

What if I told you that you can cheat your way through life and get away with it? In fact, if you cheat properly, you’ll succeed. You won’t even have to get every single answer right. All that will matter is that you give all of your heart and cheat every day.

I would think that many people would jump at this chance. Maybe even those that are honest. After all, if you know you can get away with it and not get caught, is it really cheating? Especially if everyone is doing it.

Unfortunately, most people aren’t taking advantage of this opportunity. Most are trying to solve the difficult questions of life on their own. Randomly bubbling-in what seems to be the best multiple choice answer; just haphazard guessing rather that educated choices.

Follow these steps and Cheat Your Way Through Life:

1. Consult the right text book. The only book you need to study as you face the difficult questions on life’s daily pop quiz is the Bible. God’s word provides the answers you need to get the questions right. Best of all, life’s exam is an open book test. Look to the Bible when you face the hard problems of life. It will provide the solutions and guide you to making the right decisions. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2. Visit the Professor. Life’s Instructor will help you find the right answers, if you talk with Him. His office hours are 24 hours a day and He can see multiple students at a time. Access to Him is unrestricted and you can visit with Him whenever you wish. In fact, He encourages it. Take your questions to Him and He will help you find the resolutions. Pray without ceasing.

3. Apply what you learn. While the textbook and Professor are readily available to all who seek them, you have to use what you have learned. Some consult God and His word, but want to mold His guidance to fit the answers they feel are correct. These will never pass the test. The purpose of God supplying clarification on life’s inquiries is for test takers to utilize His direction. Just like on a real exam, we need to answer based on the information in the textbook, not what we think, feel, or want to be right.  But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it,and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Jesus provided the ultimate clue to how to pass life’s exam and “cheat” our way past failure when He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

When facing the difficult questions of life, remember don’t look to yourself for the answers, “cheat” by using the opportunities laid before you.

God is never the problem, but He is always to answer. He is a gracious instructor, long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

What other ways to you use to “cheat” in life?
